Second week: FOLKLORE
The second week of saffember (15th - 21st) consists of folkloric creatures, elements and stories that can play a big role in your piece of art, some can even be sapphic lovers or they can be just side characters / elements.
CREATURES & ELEMENTS
During this week you can use any folkloric creature or element you want as part of your piece of art, even if they aren't sapphic lovers themselves but just side characters/elements!
Some folkloric creatures are hybrids, dragons, mermaids, sirens, fairies, pieixies, elves, dwarves, unicorns, centaurus, shapeshifters, nymphs, grim reapers, goblins, phoenix, cyclops, pegasus, cerberus and even ghouls.
Some folkloric elements are proverbs and jokes. Folklore also includes the forms and rituals of celebrations such as Christmas and weddings, folk dances and initiation rites.
You can of course use many others to base your art on, but we advise you to make sure they aren't part of a sci-fi view rather than a folkloric one 'cause we already have a week for that as well! If you aren't sure and you end up posting a folkloric creature during the supernatural one or vice-versa there's no problem, we will still count your art as we understand the line between these isn't clearly defined!
FOLKTALES
Such tales may refer to folkloric tale (from oral tradition), fable (written form of a folkloric tale), fairy tales or old wives' tale (superstitions or sometimes even urban legends).
During this week you can recreate any type of folktales, no matter if they are part of your own folklore or famous ones. However, we advise you to credit the author (if there's one) or explain in your notes what the original story is. Even if we support recreating these stories, we also suggest keeping the story as close as the original you can, only including sapphic relationships.
It's up to you what you wanna base your art on, what kind of tale you wanna use or if you want to recreate it completely or just enough.
